With the development of modern computer technology, the application of quantitative methods in financial practice is becoming increasingly extensive and intensive. With the goal of talent cultivation for quantitative finance, the AQF certification program combines the Greater-leading professional standard for quantitative financial analysts with practical development and actual situations of modern finance in various countries or regions, analyzes the requirements and work contents of corresponding positions, and cultivates quantitative financial professionals through theoretical knowledge and practical skills training.

Through the training and assessment of the AQFTM certification system, the AQF holders shall be familiar with and master the Part I “Basics of Quantitative Finance” and Part II “Quantitative Financial Theories and Practice” of the curriculum, so as to possess the comprehensive capacity of quantitative financial analysis.

Application Requirements

Graduated from technical secondary school or equivalent, with at least 2-years' working experience in related fields;

Junior college degree or equivalent, with at least 1-year's working experience in related field;

Bachelor degree or above;

Having obtained Assistant Analyst of Quantitative Finance (AAQF), with at least 1-year's working experience in related field;

Anyone who meets one of the conditions above and obtains 300 credits by completing the recognized education can apply to take AQF exam.

Education Requirements

Candidates for the AQF examination should complete a 150-class/300-credit training course. For AAQF holders, 90 credits could be waived.

Examination Arrangement

  • Date:

    The AQF examination would be held on the third Sunday of March and September every year.

  • Time:

    9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 14:00 PM to 16:30 PM

  • Locations:

    China. Examination sites in China are Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen currently. Other cities would be reached according to the distribution of candidates in the future.

    Other countries or regions. Examination sites in other countries depend on the notice of the exam.

Scoring and Results

Topics & Weights:
Part I “Basics of Quantitative Finance” of the curriculum (50%),
Part II “Quantitative Financial Theories and Practice” of the curriculum (50%)

Exam Structure: On-site, computer-based test.
Part I “Basics of Quantitative Finance”:
(20 Multiple-choice Questions , 10 Multiple-choice Questions, 10 short-essay questions)
Part II “Quantitative Financial Theories and Practice”:
completing a quantitative trading strategy (20 Multiple-choice Questions, 4 coding problems).

AQF candidates who achieve at least a score of 60 on the comprehensive assessment are considered as qualified.
