Learning Targets

The FPP program is a professional-level program for in-service practitioners. The certificants of the FPP program shall meet the following requirements: have a deep understanding of the concept of pension planning, be able to master the theory and practical skills of the whole process of pension planning; have a comprehensive understanding and mastery of pension planning methods and financial allocation tools; understand the historical classic cases and the latest pension planning cases; and have professional ethics and general knowledge of relevant laws and regulations required by Family Pension Planner (FPP) certification. Through the training and assessment required by Family Pension Planner (FPP) certification, the FPP certificants shall be familiar with and master the knowledge system of the syllabus, and have the comprehensive ability and practical skills of pension planning.

Application Requirements

Those who have obtained required credits after recognized training can apply for the exam and can apply for the certificate upon passing the exam and meeting any of the following requirements.

  • High school diploma, Associate’s degree or equivalent, with 5 years working experience in related fields

  • Undergraduate or equivalent, with 3 years working experience in related fields

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent, with 2 years working experience in related fields

  • Master's degree or equivalent, with 1 year of working experience in related fields

  • Doctoral degree or equivalent

Education Requirements

Candidates participating in the FPP program exam shall complete training courses of 30 hours / 60 credits delivered by recognized education provider.

    Examination Arrangement

    Date: Exams are held on the third Saturday of March, June, September and December every year.

    Time: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

    Locations: Major cities in China includes Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chen Du, Xi'an Qing Dao, Wuhan, Guangzhou Wuhan and Hong Kong.

    Examination sites in other countries: a notice shall be provided in advance.

    Scoring and Results

    Exam Structure

    Computer-based exam with 100 questions.

    Multiple-choice question: 70%

    Multiple-choice question with more than one answers: 30%

    Exam result

    Exam results are emailed approximately 10 weeks after a candidate takes the exam, and the exams are scored with 'passed' or 'failed', and the minimum passing benchmark for each exam is set by the GIFP Institute. The purpose of this approach is to ensure fairness to candidates across administrations based on the difficulty of each test, and the GIFP Institute does not release the minimum passing benchmark.
