Learning Target

Based on institutional development strategy and business development needs, CRMO Level 3 (CRMO L3) holders should start and perfect overall risk management and compliance systems, launch behavior conduct supervision and inspection for institutional management, play an important part in risk management in the decision-making process of major investment projects and innovative business, provide support for agency decision making and comprehensive risk management, found an effective risk prevention and response mechanism in the institution, establish a risk management team and risk management culture, put in place a high level of corporate governance and leadership, play a key role in the construction of organizational structure and team management, equip with a strong insight, acuity and judgment in dealing with the development of financial market and cutting-edge technology, and plays a leading role in financial reform, business innovation and institutional development.

Through the training and examination of the CRMO certification, CRMO Level 3 holders should know, understand and grasp the knowledge outlined in Part I, Part II and Part III. They also need to pass the competency assessment, have the full comprehensive ability to manage the overall risk of a firm, and have professional ethics and common sense of laws and regulations required by CRMO certification.

Application Requirements

Graduated from technical secondary school or equivalent, with at least 8-years' working experience in related fields;

Junior college degree or equivalent, with at least 7-years' working experience in related field;

Bachelor degree or equivalent, with at least 6-years' working experience in related field;

Master degree or equivalent, or having obtained Certified Risk Management Officer Level 2 (CRMO L2), or intermediate or professional qualification in finance, accounting, economics, management and other related fields, with at least 4-years' working experience in related fields;

Doctor degree or equivalent, with at least 2-years' working experience in related field;

Anyone who meets one of the conditions above and obtains 216 credits by completing the recognized education and submits 2 letters of recommendation can apply to take CRMO L3 exam.

Learning Methods

Candidates for the CRMO L3 examination should complete a108-hour/216-credit training course.

Examination Arrangement

  • Date:

    Exams are held on the third Sunday of December every year.

  • Time:

    9:00 AM to 12:00 AM, 14:00 PM to 15:30 PM

  • Comprehensive assessment:

    to submit the assessment report to the institution within the specified time frame, usually within one month after the examination.

  • Locations:

    Major cities in China: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Wuhan and Xi 'an

    Examination sites in other countries: a notice of test shall provide

Scoring and Results

Topics & Weights: Part I (30%), Part II (30%), Part III (40%)

*CRMO L2 holders may apply for exemption from the morning test at CRMO L3 level. The results of the latest CRMO L2 level test will be referred to.

Exam Structure: Computer Based Testing for Part I (60 multiple-choice questions), Part II (60 multiple-choice questions) and Part III (80 multiple-choice questions), a comprehensive assessment report to be submitted

Candidates with at least a score of 60 in the comprehensive evaluation of CRMO L3 are considered as qualified.
